Saving Noah by Lucinda Berry
4.0
This book really surprised me. For the first half, I wasn’t sure if I liked it- I grew irritated with how often the mc talked about how perfect her life/children were. The way she described her children was too idealistic and I didn’t find it believable. I also came across a fair bit of grammatical errors, typos, and repeated phrases.
HOWEVER, the second half really picked up, and I became very emotionally invested. I’m a little unsure of how I feel about the very last chapter- it felt a bit sudden and unnecessary and kind of threw off the realism for me. But by the end, Saving Noah definitely became the most thought provoking book I’ve read this year. I’m definitely glad that I read it, as I am still thinking about it weeks after finishing it.
This book is a must read if you are fascinated by the psychology behind young sex offenders, nature vs nurture, whether monsters are born or made, or moral dilemmas and ambiguity. This book had me absolutely torn on my own beliefs and what I thought I knew.
