Sapphic werewolf horror graphic novel that focuses on a group of teenage girls who plot the revenge of young men who attempt to take advantage of young women. Great idea for a plot, the execution just... left a lot to be desired. The characters were a little flat and uninteresting. They are supposed to be a close group of friends; however, their behavior and attitudes towards each other tell a completely different story. Like, is this a popular teenage girl thing? Or a werewolf thing? Why are we being sooooo microaggressive and mean towards each other??

I think this is one of those books that I'll truly think about for the rest of my life.
The Plague Dogs is one of the most brutal, devastating, and unforgettable novels I've ever read. When a lot of people remember the story of The Plague Dogs, whether from reading it or watching the movie, I think they forget that the purpose of this book is to ask you to face the cruelty we subject animals to in the name of science and to truly justify it.
The writing is great. The characters are great. It's not an easy read. Some of the scenes are genuinely traumatizing.

Took me a long time to get through this book, especially for a graphic novel.
I think the pacing was just... off. Months of forcing myself to get through this book for it to be mid at best. The art style was nice, though!

Wow. What do I even say? I read this right off of finishing Dear Wendy and... what a WILD transition. This book was well written, don't get me wrong. I liked the way it was told in vignettes, and I liked the specific stories that were chosen to be shared. There was a certain shock factor in the graphic detail in descriptions, but honestly? It was fitting. It emphasizes a kind of suffering, something foreign but also something that hit so close to home.

I can't believe I've continued with this series for this long. I almost wanted to give this installment one star, because it dragged on in the worst ways. Ethan and Max still barely know each other. Ethan has been pregnant for like 6 minutes, and they're already talking about the mating ceremony. Woof. I think the only thing that saved this part this time was the fact that Ethan and Max actually talked a little, set some expectations.

Before I address the other qualms I have with this book, I think it's important for me to get out of the way that I don't think horror is the genre for me.
I didn't like or feel connected to any of the characters in this book. Not one single one. The mother was insufferable, the sister was insufferable, our main protagonist was insufferable, all of the friends she made felt surface-level and inconsistent. Like, Geoffrey and Alexis... what was their beef all about? Neither of them ever explained what the problem was between them. And the ex-friend group. They all got together to talk and never figured anything out! The random brain tumor at the end? I guess that explained Ji-Won's migraines but I honestly thought that, as we were rounding out the story, that the tumor would have been the explanation for her turn to murder. Ugh, I don't know. Not a favorite.

This graphic novel was just ok. It was pretty much just about a girl who was obsessed with a book that was lowkey Twilight. There was not much substance. Most of the book consisted of illustrations without dialogue.

Rated this book higher than the previous two books in the series because... dare I say it, I'm starting to understand what the fuck is going on. Also, Nanami.

I like that each subsequent volume of Boyfriends gets a little bit more depth than the last. All the characters undergo interesting character development, and the situations they encounter become more mature (in a sense, not like that, but also, yeah, kinda that) as they graduate, move into a real apartment together, and resolve conflicts together.
Really fluffy and non-serious. It's peak, I fear.

I continue to love the art style and the characters in this series. I always love getting to learn more about the characters, and I love the more serious moments that the polycule faces that are being sprinkled in as the series progresses.
