Reading this was such an challenging experience because it shows you how terrible the world is, gives you all of the perspectives, then makes you realize that you're invested and intrigued by the battles that you're judging others for watching. I loved the connection to what has and is currently happening in America throughout (the footnotes were a cool way to bring in history). I wish this didn't feel so relevant.

I get the urge to dive into a British or Irish murder mystery many times throughout the year and this series seems to consistently scratch that itch. Exactly what I was looking for, cozy enough but not without some stakes.

I had a blast reading this series again. So many incredible characters that shaped my childhood. Can’t wait to revisit Lyra and Will again soon!
