I enjoyed the plot so much, it was refreshing to read a story about a couple that’s established halfway into the book, it really made me appreciate the domestic and wholesome things Bri and Lance did together. Though what kinda bothered me was the use of adverbs to describe their dialogue (but that’s just a personal thing) I just ignored it and didn’t let it ruin my reading experience.

Also once the characters were established as a couple, it started to feel like they were recounting what they did during the day instead of us being in the moment with them (though I understood why it was done, just so the scenes didn’t feel too repetitive) but it made me realise how little scenes you would get of them together in the chapters bc they just told you what went down between them instead of us watching it go down.

Overall, I loved reading this book a great start to my 2022 reading year.

I liked this book but I feel like this wasn’t as great in comparison to scream for us. It was nice to see Micah and Quinns relationship developed while still having great chemistry with the rest of the guys. Though, the smut scenes felt disjointed especially with the “plot” being introduced at a random time. There was not much of a buildup to the smutty scene but there was a lot it felt like quantity over quality. Still am excited for the novel and what’s to come

I’m leaning towards four stars because I sent on an emotional rollercoaster reading this book and enjoyed my reading experience. But I’m sticking to  3.5 stars mainly because I wish we could’ve talked abt her classism more and how that sometimes affected her outlook and experiences with black stereotypes
