A surprising ending...the way things always ends on cliff hangers.

This just wasn't for me. I enjoyed the essays, but they were honestly just a bit beyond me. Too academic for me right now. I did enjoy the first and second the most though.

Oz was really the best part of this book. The number of references in this book was obscene and there were several aspects/inconsistencies of the book that ruined the believablity of the book. I might just not be understanding, but very little of the narrative was particularly empowering about women in STEM. Some of the trooes were a bit irritating (miscommunication, the woe-is-me protagonist, etc.) too.

On another note, the book wasn't as absolutely awful and probably doesn't deserve to be reduced to 'Is this book spicy' questions on Google and Reddit.

Honestly better than I thought it would be. The fantasy element wasn't particularly important to the progression of the story and the characters aren't that deep. I wish things were more than surface level. Feyre is a classic "woe-is-me" protagonist, but it's pretty typical for this kind of book, I guess.

For the last book of the series, I didn't like it all that much. The magical direction of the quartet took me by surprise and it just never quite clicked for me. This book was much the same. Claire's story was interesting, up to a point at least.
