gosh, what a great time! the presger translators continue to be an utter delight, and even Sphene was very amusing once it let its personality shine through.
once again, this a thrilling read and i loved every moment i spent with this book. i love the theme of identity, and significance, and i love how throughout the books we see how the characters care for each other.

this book gets on with the plot a bit faster than book one and straight off the bat it is funnier, which i always appreciate. i also really love the almost overwhelming experience of Breq keeping track of events happening in 2 to 3 places at once. excellently done. the mystery is gripping, and the book continues to ponder the question of justice. thoroughly enjoyed. the end made me feel emotions

The first half of this book goes really slowly. I found myself wondering whether I need to care about all of the characters we are introduced to (only a few of them, thankfully). But the universe of the Radch is very intriguing and the mystery of the plot is what kept me reading way past my bed time at least twice. Once the retrospective narrative merges with the present time, I found that the reading went much faster.
As I said, the world-building is captivating, the plot is thrilling, the mindfuck of the universal "she" pronouns is delightful. I've enjoyed myself very much while reading this. Especially once we got at least a couple of humourous dialogue exchanges at the very end of the book. I can't wait to dive into book two shortly!

i think this is a very well-written book, but the events at the end of it have enraged me so thoroughly, i cannot possibly finish it. kudos to the writer. it is quite dense and i just don't feel like going through the effort of finishing the last bit while being completely furious

Martha Wells really kills it with first pages of books. I love books that are funny, so I loved Rogue Protocol as much as I did All Systems red. It was a very quick read for me and very enjoyable
