holy crap this book literally squeezed the life out of me in the best way possible 
the plot itself is so intriguing but the other parts of the book that aid the main plot?? scrumptious LOL 
the romance????? period

2 contestants fall for each other while competing for $100,000 on a cooking show???? had me in a chokehold i had to read it IMMEDIATELY 
i LOVED this book so much, the plot, the character development, the DIVERSITY!!!! chefs kiss 
also… spicy rating?? probably 4/5 it was 🥵 wild up in there
it does involve homophobia/ transphobia but i feel it was handled very well throughout the book 
overall, the only reason it wasn’t a full 5 star is just because there was no shocking plot twist that i love with books (the ending was pretty predictable) but it was amazing

homosexuals are not accepted in society in the 1950s but that doesn’t stop 2 girls from falling in love 😌 period queens 
i did NOT enjoy the back and forth with the chapters and the ending was so rushed?? like i am so confused it just went “one year later” boom they live as happily as they can during that time and bestie i just wanted to see more of that “one year” that was skipped in the end

i will recommend this duology to every single person i meet 
this book ended the series so well and i LOVED how the plot played out 
i like that we got to see where the characters basically ended up/ where they’re going next 🥹 
truly broke my heart and res must’ve healed it hehe

ok..this was great 
i wasn’t the /biggest/ fan of how it ended but i also don’t know what i would’ve changed about the ending so that’s why it’s a 4.5! 
i also was NOT a fan of the incest nature or how many instances there were almost SA occurrences 
other than that though, this was a very good thriller/horror type of book without it being too gory or scaring me at night LOL i don’t think i would re-read it but i thoroughly enjoyed the book

alright..this book was pretty good but i wasn’t the biggest fan of how fast the ending happened and what the ending even was..but that is more because it hurt my feelings LOL. 
as a whole, this series is definitely something i would recommend to people but only if they are in the mood for something involving fantasy, no romance, and has quite a lot  of gory scenes

this book was a lot easier to get into than the first one and a lot more was happening so it was really enjoyable
