The book was quite bland. I was expecting a big revelation.

This is a very powerful book. I’ve often wondered why females take so long to out their abusers and this story gives an insight into that. All mothers with daughters should read this book.

All throughout the book I thought I figured out who did it. I was wrong, so very wrong.

If this were a tv show it would be Sons of Anarchy meets Sweet Magnolias with a touch of 50 Shades of Grey. It had me laughing out loud and on the edge of my seat.

This story is written in the eyes of a 10 year old girl during the Black Saturday Fires. There are important lessons to be learned about being prepared for emergencies.

I thought the book dragged on a bit towards the end. There was too much about tennis and the pandemic. However, that ending…wow!!

TRIGGER WARNING: Child abuse, sexual abuse, self harm, eating disorder, substance abuse, suicide, grief.
There is a paragraph in this book that sums up how I feel.
“It took us several days to read, because although it was brief, it was also endless, and we had to keep putting the pages down and walking away from them, and then bracing each other - READY? - and sitting down and reading some more”
As a person with a disability, this was incredibly hard to read. How much sadness can a human bear?

I loved this book. A journey of healing, find yourself and your purpose of life. A book with romance and magic. However check the trigger warnings. I wasn’t prepared for the domestic violence, child loss.

The fact that this book is written by a man from a woman’s point of view is quite remarkable.

Why haven’t I read a Lucy Score book sooner? I laughed at the banter all the way through and the storyline was great. The sex was a bit graphic for my liking.
