I’m so confused. I felt like I was trying to catch up to multiple backstories I wasn’t given real detail about and consistently lagging in my attempts. Why was the tech guy, obsessed with security, constantly ignoring security alerts? Why was a nobody so concerned about his identity being revealed that he used prosthetics? Why did we have a conversation with the first stalker in a chat room in the very beginning, then it’s forgotten until we’re informed that we actually have a contract with the first stalker, but now the second stalker’s contract overrides that? Am I too dumb to keep up or was this idea executed poorly?

I’m not sure why the audiobook is nearly nine hours when it felt like things could’ve been wrapped up pretty quickly after June’s first participation. Why did we have conflict after Ray when we’d already come to terms with and accepted his condition and the probable cause of acceleration much earlier when it did absolutely nothing for the tail end of the secondary plot we were attempting to close? June was pretty annoying after a while, and Blu wasn’t… consistent? I’m not sure how to describe it, but I couldn’t wait to get the last third of the book out of the way.

This was a cute, quick holiday read with a “Secret Santa Daddy” and a little with stage fright. It started off really sweet, but got extra cheesy when the MCs officially met and made me roll my eyes more than a few times. The editing of the ebook (the lack of indentation for new lines) threw me off occasionally because, every few pages, it was simply a wall of text.

Sweet, but I won’t revisit next holiday.
