I enjoyed Iron Widow for how fresh and raw it felt as a narrative, though the first book was paced at breakneck speed.

It feels like this book is a response to that first one in so many ways. I enjoyed the slower political machinations and plot twists in this one. I liked all the new characters that are introduced and the increased scope of the world-building.  Thoroughly enjoyed this one, and I'll be eagerly awaiting the next book!

I liked seeing the different writing styles between the two MC povs.

I understand why we don't get a definitive answer as to what the demon actually is, or what happened to the rest of humanity. But I still wanted to know!

The scene with the parallel speech was really cool.
