"How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie is a self help book which I read not because I wanted to influence people or gain friends but because I just really like to know how psychology works, how people behave in different circumstances and simply how one can change the behavior of another person.
This book was pretty interesting. I loved how there wasn't just advice but also examples. There were incidences cited. I completed the book just because of these practical examples where people used the 'tactics' to influence others.

There definitely was some good advice in it, something one can learn just by observing people and using a lil common sense

"Reco2gnition: Oxygen Debt" by Mark Dowson is a really well-crafted science fiction thriller. It is a pretty impressive debut book. I wasn't expecting it to be interesting, engaging as well as informative all at once! As the central idea of the book is "environment", one cannot really expect the piece to be devoid of dull narration. But it is!

☠️Pieces of information are added without making it dry or boring. The want to read increases with each chapter.

☠️There are lively characters. The pace of the book isn't too fast nor is it too slow. It's just the perfect pace.

☠️The book reminds one of Dan Brown. It touches art and history just like Brown's works! And I happen to be a fan of Dan Brown thrillers so, there's no wayy I couldn't have liked this book. It is intriguing, engaging, well researched and amazingly good for a debut scifi.

☠️It really makes you wanna keep reading and keep knowing the characters. All the characters are pretty mysterious. They all have something much more to them that is not yet shown to us. I'm really looking forward to knowing more about Garzia and Merisi. They're both quite fascinating.

✨ Story: The future of Earth is bleak...It's 2112, there's advanced technology, machines, androids but the humans suffer as they've exhausted the Earth's resources. The only way to survive is to go back in time and prevent the murder of a scientist who could've probably saved the world by his newest theory if he weren't executed.

☠️The book really gives one something to think about. Our resources are dwindling day by day. We are destroying our environment. We do not have enough energy resources. And we don't seem to give a damn either. We really need to care for our planet.

☠️I DID NOT know it had a second book! I mean...the name says "part 1"...I'm dumb. I just cannot wait for the next book! I meaaaannn it ended on a cliffhanger

If someone had predicted that I'll read a book with that title all the way through, I would've dismissed them with a chuckle bcz look at it! The name is BAD & the cover is worse but I got it because the author has a Nobel & I was curious

"Empire’s Wake" is the first book in Exiles of a Gilded Moon series which is a scifi/fantasy.

Animal farm by George Orwell is such a brilliant piece of literature! It is a really well crafted critique on the Russian revolution and the Stalin era.

A Little Princess by Frances Burnett is a sweet, wholesome read about a little girl at the time of British rule in the Subcontinent. She's born in India to a wealthy family & her whole demeanour is that of a young princess. She's a charming little lady who's sent to a boarding school in England where she's given the importance her position demands until her father goes bankrupt & dies of brain fever. It is a turning point in the story & one that captures the reader's attention.

When love sticks around by Danielle Dayney is a memoir which contains the author's reminiscence of her past in the form of essays. She shares with us some tough times of her life like family problems, injuries, childhood memories, bad jobs, losing loved ones & so on.

"The broken cup" is a story of two people living their monotonous lives in the beautiful city of Lahore until one day they have an awkward encounter in a cafe named Notebook, and from then on, their lives intertwine, they fall for each other & get married. Unfortunately, their "happily-ever-after" doesn't last "ever after".

☕In this book we witness two beings having pretty individualistic personalities, become a family. We also witness them fall apart. The broken cup makes you realize the delicacy of relationships & the immense value of trust.

☕My favorite part was of course the wedding festivities! I really wanna attend a village themed Mehendi! (Someone invite me please

It wasn't bad...it did keep me engaged but wasn't really enjoyable cuz it was something really different, something I have zero interest in i.e. insurance frauds.

Wouldn't really recommend to anyone unless they're REALLY interested in insurances companies & insurance frauds. Or if they wanna gain some knowledge maybe?
