An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn
3.5
What the fuck this was actually better than Colin and Penelope's book???
Unexpected indeed! Yes, I'm reading them out of order sue me.
It did feel like things were happening only to further the plot and some of it was not believable at all. How does the legislative system work in this world?
Benedict wasn't nearly as annoying as I expected him to be. Yes, he is not even close to show Benedict, but it worked. He was possessive and all the other adjectives you can attribute to Julia Quinn's male characters, but I've learned to ignore it. (Still better than Simon)
Sophie was a better character than I thought she'd be. But can you truly fuck up a fairytale retelling...thinks of A Court of Thorns and Roses... Oh, yes you can.
I think they should change the story for the show. I don't oppose for Sophie to be Lady Tilley's cook and I will hold onto that prediction. I also would totally love for Sophie to be Steven ;)
