It took me a while to get hooked into the story, the beginning is confusing and it takes some effort to get used to the peculiar voice.
But then everything starts coming together quite beautifully. The world building is excellent and I got a strong sense of the atmosphere rather than a detailed picture, leaving enough room for imagination.
I lost track of the plot at times, but the story was mostly carried by the landscapes and their biology, as well as Cady's inner biology. The insights into the other characters' stories seen through her eyes add a lot of depth to the lore.
The prose is fluid, poetic while never shying away from bits of vulgarity, it's refreshing. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 57%.
Informative though nothing new to me, and some parts were validating and echoed my own experiences but towards the second half of the book the tone started feeling very prescriptive and somewhat patronizing
