very very sweet—i do enjoy a fluffy historical queer romance, what a nice time—the way these stories normalize the existence of everyday queerness throughout history is just so lovely and meaningful, and the romance in and of itself is just very very nice

so much the vibe of when women were dragons—i love i love i love—found the depictions of anxiety v stressful and the misogyny horrendous but these things were accurate to experience !!! and thus i am wrathful and also just want to give many hugs—definitely a scene inspired by mona lisa smile in there w betty and i adored it—so keen to continue the series !!! what a joy what a delight

i fear that 2.5 is actually quite generous but there are three aspects that contributed: (1) the prose is so, so clunky and the dialogue is inconsistent (some v unnatural turns of phrase), (2) plot is v superficial and all over the place—in trying to be clever is just becomes confusing, (3) truly feel like the smuttiness of it is just not for me as an audience—there’s v little emotional core to the sex, and that can be fine but then it just doesn’t land w any sort of real impact—maybe that’s just my own preference for smut tho
