Conflicted to say the least!
This book had its flaws, but wasn't all bad. A frustrating mix of potential and shortcomings.

I guess it's always good to expect nothing, just in case you get even less.

Cara has already booked a spot in my heart! it is one of the characters that I will remember for a while! The audiobook narration was superb and made her story even more enjoyable to experience.

This book not only entertained me, but also taught me a great deal about traditional Chinese medicine. Inspired by the life of Tan Yunxian, a 15th-century Chinese woman doctor, Lady Tan's Circle of Women is a lasting intellectual and emotional impression.

Tan lost her mother at a young age to an undetected foot infection that male doctors could not treat due to their inability to examine female patients. Driven by her mother's early death and trained under her grandmother, a medical practitioner, Tan's intelligence and training made her an indispensable woman doctor.

May the jewel of learning shine in this house more effulgently than the sun and the moon; may every book read buoy you on the river of life. A mountain of books has a way, and diligence is the path; the sea of learning has not end, and hard work is the boat

This book was a complete letdown and the worst thing I've read this year. I had really high expectations, but it felt incredibly forced. I kept reading, hoping it would get better, but nope, it didn't!

A part of me yearned for a deeper exploration; that being said, its brevity didn't diminish its captivating power!
