I first got interested with this book after reading "Three Daughters of Eve" which was also written by her, but I didn't like it that much, which made me wondered why people loved this author(and this particular book) too much. At that same time, I was studying Islamic Spirituality at my college and learned about Sufism, and I pretty much got intrigued with the idea of having a "Sufi" in all of us, which led me to this book. Was this book superbly amazing which would make me crazy for Shafak? No. And if anyone think this book is the best or something, well they clearly haven't read that many books, or maybe this book isn't "my type", like people would defendingly suggest. Flaws aside, I did enjoy reading this book "surprisingly", it complemented my understanding on Sufism and makes me want to try out more books on Sufism, but I just didn't think it was as amazing as people said so...

This book may feel outdated for some since it was based on Europe in the 1990s. But his slapstick humour, and the fact that a huge focus is kept on the cultural aspect rather than the modern aspect, makes this book a worthy read for everyone wanting to make a trip to Europe.

One of the best sci-fi-noir-retro oriented mangakas I have read, can't wait for the movie to come out...
