I haven’t read a book this short in a long time and I surprisingly enjoyed it! The story was amazing and and Rivers Solomon is an artist of an author. I highly recommend listening to the song (“The Deep” by Daveed Diggs and his band) the book is based off of as well! It was a bit dull for me at parts but this also isn’t a genre I typically enjoy. Overall, a beautiful story and an extremely quick read.

Despite having heard SO MUCH about this book, I somehow seemed to have missed the fact that the book was a bit long winded and a little porny. In my opinion, the book needed to be about 30 pages shorter.

With that being said, I thought the author did an amazing job of authentically portraying the struggles of coming out and being true to yourself and others. Overall, a cute story with a unique spin on a fun trope.

I really enjoyed this book. The author’s writing style was extremely entertaining, really witty, and just plain funny. The artwork was gorgeous as well!

The only downside for me was that I knew a good deal of the stories and the ones that I didn’t know weren’t all that interesting. With that being said, I am a huge paranormal and macabre geek so it’s hard to find a story I haven’t heard about.

I use this book CONSTANTLY!! It’s not a book I’ll sit down and read in one go, more of one I thumb through to help me identify a crystal or to learn the meaning of it. I’ve yet to receive a crystal that isn’t in this book and the descriptions are some of the best I’ve ever read.

This book genuinely scared me… But in all fairness, it doesn’t take much to scare me. It was an ok story and a really quick read. I read it during the Halloween season for a spooky vibe and it definitely did the trick but I’m not sure it’s something I’d ever re-read.
