"The world conditioned us not to see it.... The marvelous condition of being Black"

I finished this novel in a few hours. Quick read. The begining was dense and I felt like I had to focus to hard bc of the writing style. I enjoyed the storyline although theres missing plot points like... Do the children/toddlers die too?

I loved the deeper meaning and themes about identity, and sense of self, and what it means to be black without feeling like you are living in the shadows of whiteness.  Would recommend.

Although I couldn't put it down because I had to know the ending but when I got to the ending it fell flat. The FMC is horrible but I guess that's the point.  I wouldn't liked  more character development but overall a solid read

Lost a star bc the character decisions irked me but I also have to remember they are hella young.  Great 2nd book in the series.
