After going viral for a karaoke video, Elodie is recruited by a popstar to be her, stand in, for concerts and events while she recovers from a necessary surgery. Hunter sweeps elodie off her feet and can’t stay away from her, after attending a charity gala to rehabilitate his image. They agree to fake date to better hunter’s standing on the team and to help “Stella” ward off her ex, all the while Elodie has to keep her identity a secret from the man she’s falling for.

I think this book is heavily inspired by TS and TK and the next takes inspo from KJ and her NFL deal with her custom jacket designs.

-1 ⭐️ for the constant jegging mentions. There’s  no way to make jeggings hot on a tree trunk legged man or any man for that matter.

Ava and Hutch have been friends since forever and after acting on feelings at a friend’s wedding, expectations on a future aren’t met so they go their separate ways for 6 years. Ava just opened her practice in the small town they grew up in with no plans to leave, when Hutch’s mom gets sick he comes back into town to help on the ranch and get his mom in better health before he goes back to duty. They keep running into reach other around town, and the chemistry they had 6 years ago never went away.

Bodies are showing up in town, weird coincidences keep happening and Ava seems to be interconnected to them so how. Hutch vows to keep her safe despite his impending deployment and feelings get twisted in the bedsheets every time he leaves her and he gets closer to their end date.

Interconnected series, I read as a standalone and wasn’t lost on the plot or characters. I did add Vivian’s story to my tbr because I need the mystery to be solved and the single parent trope.

Thanks to grey’s promotions for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

•college hockey romance

•LOTR fanfic writer

•he’s obsessed/ on his knees for her… literally
•fast paced

Cammie has been secretly obsessed with Chase since starting Triton U. Being a girlie who likes fictional characters more than real people, their interactions are less than memorable unless you count the time he sat on her in a lecture. When their floor gets flooded they get accidentally roomed together.

Chase is shocked when he steps into his hotel room for the night and finds the girl he’s been looking for sitting on the bed. After breaking the bed and being thrown to the ground by Cammie he falls a lil bit in love with the girl he’s bunking with. After coming to the conclusion he likes this girl he’s shocked when Cammie offers to help him finish.

Chase was such a green flag, when he felt a wall going up he got advice and talked it through with Cammie to remedy the situation. He let her fight her own battles, but was a bodyguard in case she needed him. Cammie always comes first, sorry cums. Cammie a bad ass, has a black belt, and writes a hugely popular LoTR fic. Seeing her struggles, joining the popular crowd and them navigating this new relationship was so refreshing especially when he’s validating her feelings.

I thought all the LOTR references would be an overkill but I was perfect. The fact that the mmc knew nothing about LOTR prior to them meeting and becoming just as obsessed gave me the serotonin boost I didn’t know I needed.

I am going to need the rest of Chase’s friend’s stories, Tally’s situationship and Essie and Nate’s backstory. All the friendships and relationships in the book were so cute.

Haven has had a tough life, and at just 20 something things just keep piling on. After another blown tire during a storm Nathan, the guy she’s been in love with since she was a kid, comes to her rescue again.

Nathan genuinely didn’t give me the vibe that he’s always been in love with Haven. After stopping her father from attacking her Nathan vows to stay away from haven in order to protect her from the harm he could cause her, even before this instance he seemed bothered by the prospect of running into Haven.

It is a fast paced book and goes through a few different time spurts, after they profess their feelings it’s 0-100.

I sped read once I hit 50% because it seemed predictable and I couldn’t connect to the characters. This book is a part of an interconnected series and maybe if I would’ve read the other books it would have built upon these characters to make them more lovable.

* Doctor/ football player
* He’s always loved her

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone, if you want more background on family dynamics read other books first.

After Sorel finds out her fiancé is cheating on her the night before her wedding she needs a getaway car after telling the chapel about all of his indiscretions. When Mason is late to the wedding and sees the disheveled bride running out of the church he looks like a knight in a black tux and offers to get her out of town for a bit until the shock of leaving her cheating ex at the alter wears off. A spontaneous trip to Vegas leads to some drinking and a revenge marriage plot that ends in sexual awakening of some k*nks.

When reality settles in the pair have to figure out how to deal with the aftermath of their nuptials and the seemingly one sided feelings mason has for sorel. With a three month end date to their marriage impending, Mason tries to get his wife to fall in love with him and catch up to the feelings he’s had for years but had to keep to himself since she was with someone one else.

  • single mom
  • marriage of convenience
  • hockey player mmc
  • touch her and die vibes 💕

Very fast paced quick read that actually has some hockey in it, which I appreciate.

Leo is the hockey coach for Addie’s oldest, Izzy, after a meet cute Leo can’t take his mind off of the single mom and her fiery daughters. Men have been the last thing on Addie’s mind for the last few years and with an upcoming book deadline, the bills piling up and the stubborn hockey player who is always around to help a marriage of convenience is the best option to keep her and her girls afloat and safe.

Adelaide was a strong female presence throughout the book. Leo toting on the kiddies and their interactions melted my ice cold heart and made me finish this book unreasonably fast. The characters were lovable, the kiddies were adorable, and the way Leo’s ginormous family took in the James girls was too sweet.

Read as a standalone in an interconnected series, can’t wait to read more!

The book was cutesy, but felt a bit slow as the story progressed. While the book can be read as a standalone, I think it should be read with the other books in series to gain a better grasp of the side characters and all the relationships.

The small town vibes and all the event planning was a fun take on a Christmas book, similar to a hallmark movie. Seeing the differences in Margo’s and Sheas coming out story was so painfully realistic and showing the lasting effects that play into their budding relationship was intriguing.

They’ve been enemies since the day he tore up her Christmas drawing, but what she doesn’t know is he’s been falling for her ever since. When the opportunity to fake date arises, Jasper is quick to help Stella and hopes all the pranks and fights that led them here will end in a not so fake relationship. There’s spice, third act breakup (gets resolved fairly quickly), and funny banter. If you liked The Hating Game this book gives similar vibes but Christmas edition
