Logan is a lawyer and Thea is a bartender one night spent together leds to charlie, the quiet free spirited little girl, Logan didn’t know he left behind. After coming back to the bar too late he finds out Thea moved away with no way to track her down. Dropping last names wasn’t a priority when the tension between the two was palpable so when test came back positive Thea had no idea where to find the man that got away and left a bit of himself behind.

I don’t think I’ve ever rooted for a man so quick in a book before, I did start to roll my eyes at his dead-set mentality that tHeY wIlL moVe tO Ny with me. I also thought the suspense subplot was a little silly at the end I thought I was gonna be the sisters crazy friend.

I loved Thea. She made something of herself and found her family on the way despite her circumstances being shït. Charlie was so perfect

Devney Perry’s stories are all interconnected but could be read standalone but I think it would benefit the reader if the series was read in order since there are so many tie ins and this one introduces the next couple and their background.

* forbidden romance
* Age gap (19 yrs)
Im not even gonna lie the plot was really good and the smut (phew hawt). I thought I would feel icky skimming the book blurb like Brittany broski with kombucha but she wrote it in a way where the slow burn gets you all flustered
* The characters were lovable.
I already had dilfs on my list of must reads but adding age gap to that has been unlocked these last two books and I’m not mad about it
* did I mention he was tatted up because I feel like that visual is important

I went into this thinking it was about accidental pregnancy and the sperm donor doesn’t find out until years later since the romance book lovers Facebook lied to me again (kinda)

I was all for the age gap dilfy romance since fictional kiddies are the literal best but to realize the whoopsie doesn’t take place until book 2 I felt bamboozled. Anywho the book was okay I read it instead of sleeping but what’s new. I had to pause at the 80% mark since my jaw fell to the floor and I felt like a gremlin looking at water with how the book ended so that’s something. READ THE TRIGGERS

Hockey player x single mom
•she fled an abusive relationship
•third act breakup

I feel like the pacing of the book was off there would be sweet moments where you’d see the relationship starting to develop then the chapter ends and the next one starts a couple weeks later. The last 8-10% felt rushed so much happened from the third act breakup to the kidnapping it just missed the plot it was miscommunication to the max. It was an okay read was quick but nothing pucking amazing in the hockey romance realm.
