Jeez. This was intense and made me gasp audibly a couple times.

It took me a second to figure out the characters as there were so many and then it really threw me for six when I realised the timelines weren't consistent.

But fun. Horrifying. and fun.

Pardon the pun, but this was sweet. I wasn't expecting it to be a story with a trans character, but it was. I really enjoyed it. The twist was unexpected which I love in a book.

When I saw this was Jodi picoult I was expecting this to be sad, and it was. But it was also happy. And heartwarming too.

Oh this was so wholesome and so sweet. Subtly fantastical, which sometimes I enjoy. This was endearing and heartwarming.
Th idea of a main character wanting to quit his job to start afresh back on the island, really struck a chord with me, as I struggle at work with how I feel.

So powerful.
I think my own mother has instilled a lot of this knowledge into me, which I think is a good thing.
I always admire Adichie's writing and this is no different.
