In comparison to AGGTM, I did not enjoy this AS much, but I still loved it. I felt for the plot, although the plot twist was a a little expected and the romance between Bel and (??) was not very deep and interesting and I didn’t feel quite a connection between them. Satisfying ending though, everything wrapped up and no questions left.

Would’ve enjoyed this more if I wouldn’t have to read this for school.

This book was such a whirlwind, really. I don’t even know where to start, I loved every bit of it, but…

what the actual fuck was that ending. Shot in the dark but that may be one of the worst endings I’ve ever read, not because it’s written badly, but because it’s so unsatisfying. There is no way she went through all of that, just for no one but her to know. I do not want her to suffer, but she didn’t suffer just for no one to appreciate it. I loved every character and how everything fit together. One characters pov abseloutly bored me: Katie’s. I thought it was interesting, but so predictable. The red queen has my heart, likewise does the mace and ewen - everyone does.

I COULD NOT PUT THIS DOWN. ITS SOOO GOD. Every single character is fascinating and the whole plot is just so intricate and finely thought out, it’s actually baffling. I literally have no clue what to expect next, but also I have so many questions.

I was in a reading slump so this took me a little to get through. I never expected it to be THAT good. All characters are so intricate, and there’s so much suspense. But what I love the most is the way women are written in this novel, in comparison to many other fantasy books (especially those written by men). The women aren’t just objects, they have facets and yes they struggle, but there’s more to them.

I kind of feel for the red queen. To be fair I do not know much of her, but I lover her chapters. She has done cruel things, but since I do not have reasons for it yet I cannot hate her. I looooooveee the main character and her queen guard and generally everyone (except Thorne). I so badly want to know who her father is - I have so so so so many questions.

I read this in one sitting and I had high expectations! Many were fulfilled but if I would have to summarize my reading experience it would be a little bored and waiting for a proper climax, since when someonething long-awaited happened it was just not exciting or shocking just meh. That could possibly be, because I would have wished for more war-talk-strategy-politics-and-background explaining, because the plot heavily focused on the romance aspect (which was in no way bad). I almost did cry at certain points and I liked the characters, I just didn’t really connect with or feel much for them.
