I absolutely flew through this audiobook. I really think this is a thriller everyone could like! The synopsis didn’t initially grab me in the same way some other books in this genre have, but it delivered! It’s a fun, fast-paced,slight cat and mouse vibe, with double agent intrigue, morally grey characters, a strong and smart female lead, a bit of dual timelines, a couple of twists, and just a sprinkle of family drama and romance. It’s also a debut novel which I find so damn impressive.

I don’t want to give too much away, but if it hasn’t caught your attention, I think it should!

Wellness is such a big book! Literally (a 600 page chonker) and figuratively. And I adored it. I loved learning about Jack and Elizabeth the couple, and then flip flopping in perspective and time, to learn about each of them as individuals and their family histories. And woven into these stories there’s also a good bit of learning - about psychology, the structure of marriage, art, even prairie life (it makes sense I promise).

It’s really hard to write a review for a book that encompasses so much but ultimately I think this book depicts the underbelly of relationships; that it’s  really two imperfect people trying to figure it out. It’s a deep dive look at a singular couple, that offers a peek right into all of our relationships. A unique read. Definitely recommend.

Just barely missed 5 stars, probably because there were a couple of backstories that got just a touch long for me.
