For a first novel, it is brilliantly written. You can still see how far Taylor Jenkins Reid has come since writing this first book to her latest.

It’s a heartbreaking, moving story and I loved every chapter.

I was going to give it four stars but the last sentence of the book really got me.

Such an amazing read, I couldn’t put it down all day.

My only flaw with it was I’m apparently dumb and I’d get confused with the quotes and the text because they’re written so similarly with it being present tense first person.

I haven’t read the first book in this series so I guess I’ll be treating it as a prequel - you definitely don’t need to have read the first book to understand or love this one and I’m glad I read this one first, seeing the reviews saying that the sequel was pointless because I thought this book was great as a standalone.

My first Colleen Hoover book and I was not disappointed.
She is very hyped up in the reading community and while it’s not my favourite book of all time nor is she my favourite author based off of this one book, it is a great read that really does draw you in.

I LOVED this book.
Yes, it was quite predictable but it was amazing.
The first half was just a lovely, entertaining, calm read and the second half was so exciting. Absolutely loved the characters. Brilliant book and I think I need a trip to the local aquarium.

Loved learning more about the original characters and about the lore.
Didn’t want to put the book down.
Loved this book and can’t wait to read the third and hopefully read more about Kaname!

Only issue was getting used to everyone’s names as someone who doesn’t hear many Japanese names - that and so many of them begin with K so became confusing to me.
