It was fun to re-visit Elfhame and the characters again, but I felt like not a lot happened in this book. It was a long tale of communication. The first of Oak and Wren’s two books was better.

A diversion from my typical genre, but I enjoyed it more than I expected. Beautiful prose, and a captivating story of two women as they experience very different but intertwined lives. Loved that it wasn’t a white savior story and didn’t shy away from hard aspects of enslaved life through Handful’s perspective.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Maybe not quite as much as the first, but it was a great follow-up and continuation of the story. The world building and visual imagery is incredible, and I love the characters and their interactions. I don't know that the "journal" style of writing is quite for me, and I still wish I had felt more chemistry between the FMC and the MMC. Maybe I've just been too influenced by more "open door" books, whereas this is a milder "fade to black" romance. Overall had a great time reading, couldn't put it down, and can't wait for the third book!

As much as I couldn’t put this one away, it felt very, very long. The story and characters are so rich, but there was a LOT to get through. The depiction of grief and love felt very real, and I loved getting to know more of The Hand. Very curious where the third book will take us, and
confirming what it price Dianna had to pay to bring Samkiel back.

This was such a joy to read. I was slow to get into it, but took off about a quarter of the way through. Cute story, loved a little intrigue and the fact that the FMC was onto the MMC secret from the get go. Super refreshing.

I loved every single second of this book. More character driven than plot, but still a very good mix. I loved the development of Emelin's magical capabilities along with finding herself. Creon might be my new favorite "book boyfriend" ever, and I connected so deeply with their story in this chapter of the series. I can't wait for the final book! New favorite author/characters/story!

A good follow up and continuation of the story. This book blew the world wide open and introduced us to more loveable characters. Excited for the rest of the story!
