Roses aren't Red by Fallenstar, Fallenstar
4.0
Book: ROSES AREN’T RED
Author: Bishal Bora
This is a story revolving around three main characters, Karan Gill Vohra, Flora Skyler Evelyn and Sarah Jay Sharma. The story starts when suddenly one day Karan meets Flora, her love since her childhood. And then he started telling us about their childhood.
Karan was in love with Flora but unfortunately they both were friends since Kindergarten and so they were just like 'friends' and are in friend zone. Meanwhile Karan have many strategies to impress Flora, while Sarah, her lab mate, loves him. And so there is a love triangle here. But let me tell you, this is not a typical love triangle that we have read till now. There were a lot of twists and turns there.
Apart from the love story, there were other few topics also raised in the story like LGBTQ, rape and ragging that goes simultaneously with the story.
But for me, I feel some void in the story. Like the topics of LGBTQ and rape can be raised more effectively. Like they were raised but was lost somewhere in the story later. And for me personally, I wanted to know more about the characters. The story can be extended more. The ending was good but it can be kept similar with more description about the characters. I want to know more about Karan and Flora but a bit more about Sarah amd Riddhi (Riddhi is sister of Karan) because they were the characters I personally liked more.
I will recommend this book to the people who love reading romance as it is not a typicall romance. Also, the language is simple, so beginner can also try it if they have no issues with abusive words.
Trigger warning: Abusive words, rape, ragging.

Raibaraily Romance by Saras Azad
3.0
Book: Raibereli romance
Author: Saras Azad
This is a story of Raghu Kumar, who belongs to Raibereli and her girlfriend, Sonam, who lives in Lalganj, a place 32 k.m. far from Raibereli. They know each other from their childhood but at that time, they were just neighbours and not more than that. Raghu is shy and for him, talking with girls is more difficult than climbing The Everest, the latter is even possible. But when he meets Sonam, after seven years, he was at a sudden feels confident. You can tell it love at first sight. In the story there was friendship, love, drama, violence, court case, police and everything just like a Bollywood drama.
But let me tell you, it is not that gripping as it seems. There were some grammatical errors. Also, the story was not that filmy for me as it seems. The character was portrayed surfacial like more about their physical appearances and the emotional connection for me was somehow absence. Also, the story was somehow rushing for me, things change very rapidly. The romance was absence and as the things picturised, the main story seems less centralised. Also, more work can be done on the story.
I will recommend it to beginners. Romamce readers will find it ordinary and simple read amd not that great as it is expected.
According to me, the cover image was not that great.

Petit à Petit: Little by Little by Ambica Uppal
3.0
Don’t push your heart to the ground
When it’s meant to fly.
Don’t listen to gravity,
It’s telling you a lie.
~Fly, my friend, fly
By Ambica Uppal from Petit à Petit
Book: Petit à Petit
Author: Ambica Uppal
Rating: 3/5
Petit à Petit means little by little. This poetry collection is divided into five parts, Petit à Petit, The Magic that You Hold, Look Within, Bloom and Dream on.
The poet has intelligently used many figures of speech in the poems and from them, I liked the ones with metaphors and similie more. The rhyming scheme is in the poems throughout the collection which gives it a beautiful touch and makes the recitation of poem more amazing.
This collection of poems has wide range of poems, from four liners to lengthy ones. It's difficult for me to say which one is my favourite, the short ones or the long ones? In most of the poems, I feel deeply connected but there are some poems with which my connectivity was not that good. Some deeply touched me while some failed in it.
The poems are quite good and it will hardly take one to two hours to read it.
The illustrations are amazing. Also the language is simple, so it's beginner friendly.
If you are a beginner and want to read a good poetry collection, it is for you. Give it a try.

Malhaar: When It Pours, Soak Yourself in Poetry by Ambica Uppal
4.0
I didn’t stop
Loving you
And
Perhaps I would
Never not love you.
It’s just that I started
Loving myself more.
-Ambica Uppal from Malhaar : When it pours, soak yourself in poetry
Book: Malhaar : When it pours, soak yourself in poetry
Poet: Ambica Uppal
Rating: 4/5
Malhaar is the second poetry collection of poet Ambica Uppal and this one has my heart. Malhaar is an old melody in Indian classical music and is evocative of the rains in the monsoon season. The poetry collection is divided into six parts: In Verse, Let Yourself Love and Be Loved, Lessons Learnt and Discerned, On Voyages, You and Others and Flesh, Blood and Sweat.
The poet in the poems portrayed the human feelings and emotions beautifully. The words reach directly from pages to heart. The human behaviour, human tendencies, mindset, everything is written beautifully in the poems.
There are many poems which I literally
loved. The section You and Others is the one which I liked the most. There are poems about self-love, beauty, happiness, affection and so on.
If i will start talking about this collection, it would be a spoiler as it is one of my favourite poetry collection.
The language of the book is very easy. I will recommend it to each and every one whether you are a poetry lover or not.

Pentacles by Sabarna Roy

Money is earned by burning all the gifts of nature and converting them into waste.
-Sabarna Roy from Pentacles
Book: Pentacles
Author: Sabarna Roy
Rating: 3/5
Pentacles by author Sabarna Roy consists of one long short story and four long story poems in free verse. I have read many short stories and many poems also but one long short story and four long story poems is something new for me and that's why I choose this to read.
It is divided into five parts - New Life, The Tower, Chasing, 2001-2002 and Tara. The story revolves Kingshuk sen whose mother left his father and him for her new love. The story then starts moving forward and then the new characters starts emerging. The story is gripping, plot is good and it is good one time short read for me. The poems are nice but I was expecting more from the author.
The language of the story is easy and simple. The cover of the story is nice but could be more better but the blurb is quite good.
If you are a short story lover, then I will recommend it to you.

Love
as I found this
to be recited to you
as whispers,
where these dreams exist
I'll be there, whispering;
of your identity
and a lot more than words.
Highly Unstable is a poetry collection by author Mayank. In the collection, the poems are about life, love, self-love, journey, success, destination, feelings, life, health and others. The most innovative and new thing I saw in the collection was the titles of the poem, they are presented as time, it's totally a new concept for me as when I read the poems I feel the emotions more when it is shown with time also.
Some of the poems in the collection were good enough but with most of the poems, I wasn't feel connected. The title is suitable for the collection and the cover page is quite good. Also, the illustrations are pretty impressive.
I will recommend it to those people who want to read poems with new concept as the only thing I liked about this collection is its concept of poems with the titles of time.
