I really enjoyed Hooked, the first book in this series, and now this! It was even better than Hooked IMO! This is a Lion King inspired novel that is nothing like the Lion King.

These dark romances are just so good. Love the play on fractured fairytales.

Dark romance, criminals, good guy/bad girl, family trauma, love to hate…

The author is so great at really developing these characters and interesting story lines. I’m a fan and this has been a fun change of pace!

I had a hard time getting into this one for some reason. Wasn’t feeling attached to any of the characters as much as the last four books. I still love the concept regardless.

What a book. I absolutely devoured this. So many things I loved about this book including the multiple story lines, the WILD plot twists I definitely never saw coming and the characters were soooo good. The breathing was fantastic on this book!

This was heart wrenching, beautifying and a definite must read!

This was such a fun and unique story.

3.5 overall because it was so slow for me and at the same time I loved the story.
5 for narration. It was SO GREAT! It made the story and characters come to LIFE!
4 for characters overall. I loooove Marcel so much.

Overall it’s worth the read!

Martha is an 18th century midwife and healer. This story was fascinating, intense, frustrating (injustices) and also so beautiful. Based on a real persons life and her stories, it’s definitely worth the read. It was a little slow at certain parts but overall so good.

Narration was GREAT, and make sure to listen to the Author’s note at the end.

What a way to end 2023. This is easily in my top favs this year. This first book started out the series with a bang! I am obsessed! So far I’m liking this more that any other fantasy series, but I’m only on book one so we will see. This was the perfect amount of everything for me. It wasn’t ever too slow or too complex.

I LOVEEEEEE these characters. The banter, the bravery, the complexities… and of course the cliff hanger at the end.

“I’m not foolish enough to not feel fear when I know that any of you could kill me before I even have a chance to take my next breath. But fearing what you’re capable of doesn’t mean I fear you.”

WOW WOW WOW. Another cliff hanger ending to an incredible series. I LOVE the characters in this series and my love for them just tripled after this book.

These might be my favorite characters in any series I’ve read. Top five for sure. Onto the next book, can’t wait!
