Batman, Volume 2: The City of Owls by Scott Snyder
4.0
While the Mr. Freeze story wasn't amazing it was still decent enough. The opening is great build up to the "big" fight and DAMN is it a big fight. Talk about scope and brutal fist fights, this was one of the best I've read. On top of that Alfred gets a great back story about his father. Overall, another solid entry and it's making me glad I finally tried a DC title.
Batman, Volume 3: Death of the Family by Scott Snyder

Interesting throughout with only a midway slowdown that I could have lived without. However, the opening and ending of this story arc was amazing. I especially love Joker's first come back scene but the ending was even better. Overall, this is a story of the Joker that does the character justice. And the end results makes me a sad panda. Overall, another hit for the 52.
Batman, Volume 5: Zero Year: Dark City by Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV

I'd say this one is around a three and a half. some truly epic moments left the rest of the story around just okay. the best parts are when focused on the riddler. The parents death scene, dead space reject monster, and a few more things weren't needed. however when riddler is on the page or when bat man is fighting a lion, the fun is so good.

I really dug issue one, before it went all weird. Once we got to the rot and red the story just blew up into this weird horror show without keeping me Interested. I was really disappointed in this one. I think maybe swamp thing will fare better.

Very interesting start. first few issues were lacking but the last two brought it home and made me want volume two. I guess a book progressively getting better is a good thing!
Pride of Baghdad by Brian K. Vaughan

The ending was so heavy, I had to take a day to write this review. The whole thing was entertaining and truly managed to make you care for these animals. I loved the dialog, the comparison to humans, and most of all the wonderful art. A truly stunning story that will always stick with me, especially with that ending and last few words. This is what I hope all stories strive to be in the end.
Quantum and Woody Volume 1: The World's Worst Superhero Team by James Asmus

I probably like this more than I should. The humor is so silly, so dumb, I can't help but laugh. I also love their powers, and the brothers relationship feels real and well made. Also, the goat part was insane. Overall, just a very fun comic that made me remember not every single comic has to be super serious.
X-O Manowar Volume 1: By the Sword by Robert Venditti

While I had no interest in this one I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did. I think the midway twist really got me into the story. The way the story is allowed to jump around through different times keeps it interesting.
Daredevil by Brian Michael Bendis & Alex Maleev: Ultimate Collection, Book 3 by Brian Michael Bendis

And so I finish the final volume. Excluding the extras at the end this was a perfect way to wrap it up. Sure the mid story was weird but fuck it, still entertaining. Bendis truly made daredevil a character that is now easily top five for me. Time to move on to ed's run but Damn this was so good!
