Far darker than the show! I like the changes they made with his father, he feels more bitter and deranged.

”because it is enough to exist in the world and marvel at it.”
such a beautiful story. I loved the optimism and a story about growth in humanity and individuals. I relate a lot to the need to self fulfill and do everything with purpose, so I’m grateful for the reminder to slow down and just appreciate that I exist. We are no more special than any other form of existence.

Definitely a person who was misunderstood and fallen victim to the wrath of the media towards women in the early 2000’s. She’s very reflective and holds space for what she could and couldn’t change throughout her years of fame. Wishing her so much peace for her and her family!

Fluffy romance, that’s for sure. Felt like it was a little all over the place. The switch from enemies to lovers was a little too quick with not enough substance to back it up. It felt like there wasn’t any change that took place before she suddenly wanted a relationship. Her eating disorder was magically cured by Nate so quickly. The spicy scenes were a little cringey.
And she just happened to switch into solo skating and win gold in that short of a timeframe? Not a skater, but doesn’t seem realistic

Made me feel like I was back reading in college! Loved the flowery language and imagery. Very dense and took longer than expected to get through. I eventually switched to audiobook and loved the narrator. Very reminiscent of 19th century literature

A beautiful and terrifying story of the circle of life. Terrifying imagery, but hopeful and sad ending. So much reflection on native stories and pressures and what it means to live up to expectations

Fun and sexy. The pacing was sometimes a bit off and the dialogue could get a little cringey but I liked the plot of the book, even if a little unrealistic! How have the FBI not caught on? 🐦‍⬛🔪

Sometimes I like watching a show before reading the book because it helps with visualization and I’m so glad I did for this one. I was able to picture the show characters so well in the book and it really added to the reading experience. I actually liked how the show depicted their complicated relationships with each other more, but I did appreciate being more in Celeste’s head about
the dv issues.

The choice of format is bold because I can see a lot of people not liking the interview style, but it was a cool way to get multiple characters perspective on the same event. Quick, enjoyable read. I thought the format was creative and liked the outline of all the songs at the end.
