the previous two books I have been willing to overlook the oftentimes poor writing, as the story was gripping and fast-paced… Onyx Storm manages to slow the pace to a point where I physically cannot overlook the problems anymore to the point it becomes half interesting, half boring and borderline meaningless to the plot. I hope these pointless moments are actually necessary for future instalments, so that I haven’t wasted a week of my time on this story.
my first venture into the fantasy genre after being adamant that I would never be interested enough in the plots to see a book through until the end - I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this
too many content warnings are needed for this - if you’re into that sort of thing then its definitely worth a read but i dont have the stomach for some of the themes anymore
the story overall was touching, and I’m goad to see such a troubled character heal…. but there was just an excessive amount of sexual content that took me out of it. It seems I am one for the plot and the politics, and not the romance
