as always i don't know nearly enough about this part of the world or this time period as i should. this was a very fascinating read and i loved that all the character's were fleshed-out with varied backgrounds. also i always love a story where character's are connected by a single thread, in this case pavol. highly recommend!

every single minute of this book made me absolutely furious but the two plot twists at the end DID get me so i had to give it a couple stars for that at least

i love this so much!! nothing like a heist and a found family to get me hooked into a story from page one, especially since this is coupled with the introspections on what it means to be part of a diaspora. there were a couple issues i had with the writing style itself which i chalk up to it being a debut, but overall i hope to see from this author.

really enjoyed this especially the world building!!! i would've liked to see more of the design trials from the beginning and a slower burn for edan and maia but overall this was a fun read and i will be diving into the second book as well!
