Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen

This was obviously super well-researched and the detailed descriptions easily turned it into the most terrifying thing I've ever read. But as my parents said when I expressed my concerns about a Nuclear Holocaust: "If we die, we die." Just hope that when the DC area is inevitably attacked, I am right in the path of the weapon and not in the outskirts so I can just die quickly instead of suffering from the slow horrors of starvation or radiation poisoning. I am not meant to survive an apocalypse.

an absolutely wild book from start to finish. i thought it was an interesting look at how people get entangled into cults and the way being in those spaces could mess with their perception of reality but i also just could not stand either shay or jamie

obviously not a perfect book but yall know i love an age gap romance!! i hate the label grumpy/sunshjne but that is at its core what this book and it was done rather well. i do wish the overall timeline of this book spanned a longer period of time--it did feel like a slow burn but then mentions of only a week passing would throw me out of that. overall a fun read in my opinion!!

an interesting look at the female characters in the great gatsby and how they shape the story for what it is

honestly as a cat lover/owner i adored this. the drawings are so cute and obviously done with such love and softness and i see so much of my own cat in penny's mannerisms. such a fun little read

i really liked the progression of ali and adam's relationship and how they both took the time and space to figure out their own things before making their relationship official. i usually don't mind if there's not too many spice in a book but i do think this could have warranted more spice considering the physical tension between ali and adam throughout. otherwise though a fun quick read!

interesting storyline and i like how the main mystery unraveled but i felt like there were a lot of unanswered questions about secondary plot points at the end and things they could've explored more in depth. the ending in general felt very abrupt and i think this easily could've been a longer read.
