This was summer romance goodness! I loved so many things about this book and at the end of reading, I was so sad that there wasn't an epilogue! I wanted MORE of these two characters and their happily ever after.

Sunny was so respectful of Banu and made sure she was comfortable with all their lovey interactions in front of his friends. But he was also really playful and I loved watching her react to his flirty comments (licking comments to be exact) 😜.

The paradise setting was perfect and I could clearly picture all the food that was described. I connected with these characters on so many different things and I think that’s what made me love the story more (fear of large bodies of water b/c sharks are real, respecting the native land, learning how to pronounce people's names correctly, love of family, etc.).

This was my first book from Patel but it will not be my last! I'll be recommending this cute summer read to every romance lover I know.

This book started off with a BANG (IYKYK). It’s safe to say that it captured my attention immediately and kept it throughout the entire book.

Curvy Girl Summer is what I like to call romance plus. We follow Aaliyah during her search for a potential partner + the story covers multiple areas of her life. 👇🏾

✨ Life is NOT over the age of 30 and it’s okay if you don’t have everything figured out.
✨ Setting boundaries with loved ones is hard but necessary.
✨ Being comfortable in your skin!
✨ It feels like the Wild West on these dating apps!

Watching Aaliyah’s dating adventures was so entertaining but at times a little too realistic.

My favorite part of course was the romance! This book doesn’t necessarily follow the traditional romance outline and I enjoyed that. We got to watch our two MCs develop a friendship and eventually come to terms with the feelings they had towards each other. They also had amazing chemistry and great banter.

It is a slow burn but our MMC loves to talk 😉 and there is a workplace scene that was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!

This book did have ONE element in it that made me nervous. But it resolved itself and I was positively giddy at the end of the story. Actually, I wanted a bit more of the two MCs relationship, but that’s the best feeling, right?

⚠️ Lastly, please check content warnings for possible triggers - grief, fatphobia, body shaming, and complicated family dynamics.

This book gave me all the happy-lovey feelings I wanted. The romance that blooms between these two is so heartwarming. I love watching them fall in love and in this book, it was clear that these two were made for each other.

This was a slow burn, but when it came time to get down to business Issac took care of Laniah! Think I’ll be claiming him as my summer book BF!

The writing and short chapters made this so easy to read and get lost in. It’s full of love, tension (the good kind), and tenderness! This is a feel-good, happy-tears kind of read and I will recommend this to everyone looking for the perfect summer romance.

Readers should be advised to check content warnings for possible triggers. The characters deal with grief (off-page) and chronic illness.
