This was an entertaining stand-alone fantasy and I know I can count on Jenn Lyons to provide when it comes to poly love triangles.
The main thing I had an issue with was Jaemah’s arc/death. I feel like even though it was acknowledged that he had been horribly abused he was still demonized. Not saying that what he did was right and that he shouldn’t have been held accountable but he was also really never that fleshed out and I think his character either needed to be cut from the story or written a bit better.

Those last hundred pages WERE wild. Also I only had Nikkelo for five minutes but I miss him :/

This was both fascinating and entertaining! Absurd, funny, full of information on an incredibly specific historical event, but told so imaginatively.

Unfortunately not a series id recommend—while the first book showed promise, things kind of when stagnant from there. I think these could have used more developmental editing. The twists don’t really come as good as they do in the first one, and things just kind of felt messy and consulted and not that exciting or fresh anymore. I did appreciate the elements of the cracked-as-a-disability that was going on, but overall just ended very meh for me.

I thought this was…fine. I wasn’t sold on the romance for a while, and I wished there was more worldbuilding bc the little we got seemed interesting. I do think the typewriters were fun even if I struggled to take them seriously. I did ultimately think the romance was sweet and it’s just kind of in that weird space between YA/Adult which affected my perception
