I found these books rather late...after all the hub-bub was in full force. I hadn't paid any attention to them before, had not seen the movie, did not know anything about them. My brother gave me Twilight and told me I could have it because "he just didn't get it". I told him that I wasn't into vampires but I kept the book anyway. A few months later I found the book where I had tossed it aside earlier. I had a little time and so I sat down to read with my cup of tea. I never looked back after that. I devoured the whole series within two weeks.

This was my second favorite book in the series with Twilight being my favorite. I was riveted and was satisfied with the way Bella and Edward's story ended. When I finished the book I felt as though I was leaving behind a set of friends...albeit cold, old, weird friends...but still....

I thought this book was great. It was even more refreshing after reading Twilight to realize that it isn't even close to the same type of story but the emotion I felt while reading it was just as strong as the emotion from reading Twilight.

This book kept me riveted to see what would happen next. I wasn't sure how I would feel about it since it is a YA book (like the Twilight series) and I worried it would be too simple for my taste...but it captivated me and even though the language and structure are for a younger audience, I was swept into the story. Some people have complained about the violence but to be honest there is more violence in a reality show on cable than in this book...you can handle it. I thought it was well written and very engaging.

All the reviews that I have read on this book have been great so I was expecting a wonderful story that was sad, but hopeful. Hmmm...I didn't get what I wanted. Instead, this is a book that is truly heartwrenching and at times downright depressing. The story kept me involved so I wanted to finish the book, but I could not identify or understand Lavinia's character and how, at times, she could be so spineless and clueless. I did fall in love with all the rest of the characters, especially Mama and I love the genteel Southern plantation picture that this book painted. I know that stories like this probably happened many times in the South before the civil war but it is very difficult to read of the hopelessness and sheer evil that might have existed. It is a decent book, but if you are looking to be uplifted by a nice story set on a plantation in the South...this is not the book for you.

I thought this book was cute and funny and a sweet light read. I listened to it as an audiobook and kept picturing it as the perfect romantic comedy movie so maybe it will end up as that. I loved Pippa's personality and her spunky spirit and I really loved learning so many things about how the British think of Americans...lol.

This series was so great that I couldn't put the books down. I listened to the first book as a recording but then borrowed "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" from the library to read them myself. I read both of them in three days. By this last book I was reading as fast as I could to see what would happen next...these are a great read for anyone of any age who loves action and adventure with a love story on the side. :)

This book was a wild ride that I loved from beginning to end. I liked this book much better than even the first book "Hunger Games". I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen with Katniss and Peeta next!

I thought this book was sweet and old fashioned if a little slow (and maybe a tad boring).
