1885 story was great.  1985 story was blah. I was just not invested in any of the characters of the modern story. I also wish the mystery was more mysterious. Though the twist was pretty great.

I didn't hate this book.  I think it was a fun beachy read.  Doesn't help that I'm reading it in the middle of February.  I liked the mystery aspect of it.  Those stories are always engaging to me.  The biggest issue that I had was that Josie and Stella had similar voices when it was their section.  And the flipping back and forth I think was confusing because of that.  I think this would have been better if everything besides the interviews at the station were written in 3rd person instead of 1st.

A lot of the plot points felt very convenient to me.  That being said, this is a middle-grade book, so I can accept that.
