Five freakin stars. This volume was everything. I loved learning more about Chloe and Jean and Jeanne’s involvement with Chloe. Next volume should be lit honestly now that a lot came to light. 😍

O M G, this series is EVERYTHING, I read one book at a time on Kindle Unlimited and every single book got 5 stars and I have ordered the series as a whole off of Amazon now because this will be a re-read and I must annotate. Lana is such a complex person with so many layers and I adore her with my entire heart. Logan is the same way, and the way he accepted her after finding everything out and even did what he did to earn her forgiveness? omg, I was SCREAMING for their HEA. I hate what happened to Lana to lead up to all of this though, but I love watching her get her revenge on the entire town, they all deserved it and Lana deserved peace. This will be on my yearly re-read list because it was THAT good. It is a dark thriller, filled with mystery, and sprinkled with a tad bit of spice. ❤️

This is my 1st re-read and I am changing my rating from a 4 to a 5, I did not take the time to fully appreciate this masterpiece the first time around.

╰┈➤Auren is Midas's favored, his gilded "pet", kept in a cage to protect them as Midas says. But when Midas makes a deal involving Auren, without her consent, the trust she once had in her protector starts falling away little by little. 

╰┈➤There is so much more depth to this story than what I typed above, but I don't want to say too much and ruin the entire plot. This is a story of self discovery, reclaiming your powers, and trying to survive in a misogynistic world where men hold all of the power. I love Auren so much, she is so much more than she believes herself to be and I love watching her growth slowly. And Midas? he can fuck right the fuck off. He disgusts me and reminds me of quite a few men I have had the displeasure of knowing. 🤢

╰┈➤Wow, just wow. This book gave me chills, made me cry, made me scream, had me walking away from my headphones and pacing wondering what I just heard and how I can un-hear it. This story is deep, the trauma feels real, the characters and their depth was beyond magnificent. This book was so beautifully written and idk how I am going to move past it. I have no other words.

╰┈➤This is book 1 of Joey and Aiofe's story. The timeline for this book happens prior to Johnny and Shannon. It follows Joey as he denies his feelings for Aiofe because he is trying to spare her from his issues and his family. He is pretty much the caregiver for all of his siblings as his parents have pretty much checked out. And because of all the stress on him, he finds vices to try to escape from his life for a time and Aiofe is set on saving him from himself and refuses to let him deny the feelings she know he has for her. 

╰┈➤I cried, I cried, I cried some more, I smiled a little, I cried. True story of my emotions while reading this book. Joey deserves so much more than what his parents have given him. And it breaks my heart reading how he feels about himself and his inner thoughts. No kid deserves the things he has gone through and it makes me hurt for him. And Aiofe, sweet, strong Aiofe, needing to save Joey from himself and refusing to let him fall a part. Ugh, I adore her. This story is everything and I hope that Joey gets the absolute best ending. He deserves peace.

- - - Russ and Aurora meet at a party and end up having a one night stand. Russ dips in to the bathroom and Aurora leaves thinking he wants her to. They both think that they will never see the other again. Until they both end up counselors at the same summer camp. 😱

- - - I loved this story so much, the same amount as I loved Icebreaker. The mental health inclusion in this story was so perfectly written and really added to the story of Russ and Aurora. They are both so perfect for the other as they are different in the best ways. They have also both been THROUGH IT with their parents which gives them a lot of common ground. The progression was perfect, insta lust, but then a nice angsty slow burn. I loved reading about all of the other characters as well that were also in Icebreaker, I missed Nate and Stasie so much. Now I just have to sit here and attempt to be patient for Henry's story that comes out in August.

Monroe's number, she has not had a great life and has a hard time trusting anything due to her childhood, but she starts to hope for more when she begins texting this stranger. Then she sends Lincoln her picture, and he is instantly in love and will do anything to make her his. 

╰┈➤Hockey romances are my new thing, I have not read one I did not love as of yet, and this is no different. The genre was a tad different as it was darker, but it worked. Lincoln made it work, he made it really work. 🥵😂 He is a little crazy for Monroe, but deep down, he is a little cinnamon roll who will do absolutely anything for her and I love that for her. Slay queen. Monroe has had such a hard life, I felt so much for her and just kept hoping she would allow herself to open up and let him in and I screamed when she finally did. Let yourself be happy girl, you have earned that. The only reason this was not an easy 5 stars for me was some parts were really cringe, like his constant need to put her on his lap and feed her. 🤮 Brother ughhh. Is she a baby or a woman? Or the amount of times we had to hear about his big his d*ck is.
