I was thrilled and honored to receive an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of *Forget Me Not: A Novel* by Stacy Willingham. Thank you to NetGalley for this opportunity! I was eager to read this book, especially after meeting Willingham in Charleston before I had read any of her work. Her books are what got me into the psychological thriller genre.
The story follows Claire Campbell, an investigative journalist who is currently unemployed and living in New York City. A call from her father brings her back to her small South Carolina hometown, which she hasn't visited since leaving after high school. The town is filled with memories of her sister's disappearance and presumed death, which occurred twenty-two years ago.
Claire accepts a job and begins living at Galloway Farm, a vineyard located on the coast of South Carolina. This is the same place where her sister worked and found happiness before her tragic death. While at the farm, Claire discovers and starts reading a decades-old diary. As she delves into its pages, she uncovers eerie similarities between the diary entries and her sister's mysterious disappearance, making Claire feel increasingly unsafe.
If you enjoy a gripping psychological thriller, this is the book for you. I love how even the smallest details come back to hold significant meaning. Although one twist in the plot is relatively easy to anticipate, there are additional twists that will leave your head spinning.

I was excited and honored to receive an ARC of *Romantic Friction* by Lori Gold. Thank you to NetGalley for this opportunity.
Sofie Wilde is the bestselling author of a fantasy romance series that is concluding with her tenth book. She is thrilled that her hard work is finally paying off and that she is receiving the recognition she has long deserved. However, a debut author named Hartley West is gaining attention with a book that closely resembles Sofie's writing style. Hartley openly admits to using AI to mimic Sofie's voice.
*Romantic Friction* addresses a unique and timely debate surrounding the use of AI in writing and other creative works, featuring both hilarious and cringeworthy moments. Several parts of the book had me laughing out loud.
I also enjoyed learning more about the publishing industry, writers, and book conventions. I went into the book expecting a romance, but it turned out to be more of a humorous fiction piece, with only a small hint of romance.
I listened to the book as an audiobook and wondered if I would have enjoyed reading it more. At times, I struggled to differentiate between Sofie's dialogue and her internal thoughts. I felt that Sofie and Hartley were unlikable characters, likely by design, until the last few chapters. I found Cooper-Bradley to be the most enjoyable character. In the end, I was glad I didn’t DNF the book.
