Did not finish book. Stopped at 29%.
I just couldn’t get into the book. I really wanted to like this one- but it just kept dragging and it didn’t hold my interest

The Resurrectionist was a slower read for me. The story is good and the plot is solid, it just took me longer to get into the story. I found myself carrying the book around but only reading a few pages at a time. Yet, when I did pick it up and read I was engaged and enjoyed the story. It’s a historical fiction centering on the body snatchers of the early enlightenment. Our protagonist runs across Scotland’s first serial killers and helps his new love interest uncover the crimes.

“Every oppressor, through their denial of humanity, sows the seeds of their own destruction”

I waited so long and was so excited for this book. Iron Widow was so good and I don’t know if this one was the same. The plot was much more political and I kept drawing parallels with some of the things happening in society today. That said, I’ll definitely be picking up the third one in the series when it’s released.
