The Huntress by Carrie Cotten
5.0
An excellent Medieval Christian Fiction! The characters were beautifully written and developed and the story kept me interested. It had a beautiful slow-burn romance - a quick marriage to save their people that morphed into hard-fought love. The display of faith felt extremely relatable, unlike other Christian fiction novels I've read in the past. It was nice to know that, like me, other people's relationship with the Almighty has waned and waxed in the past. Life isn't always an uphill climb - sometimes you've some valley moments mixed in there too! My favorite genre is historical fiction and this book is one of the better ones I've read in that genre in a long time. Absolutely would recommend it to anyone looking for a great, captivating read!
The Lady's Mine by Francine Rivers
4.0
The Lady's Mine is one of my all-time favorite books by Francine Rivers! It takes you back to the late 1800s gold rush era. The characters are beautifully developed and you truly feel like you grow alongside Kathryn as she attempts to navigate life alone in a small frontier town. Far removed from the kind of life she was accustomed to, Kathryn learns who she is and what she is willing to stand for in a town that desperately needs someone to stand up for what is right. Matthias, the male lead, is a beautiful story of faith redeemed. While the book is a romance, I greatly enjoyed the storylines and details of the other characters involved to give it a well-rounded feel.

"Miss Clara Marie Stanton's family may be eccentric, but they certainly aren't insane.
London, England, 1860
When Clara's ex-fiancé begins to spread rumors that her family suffers from hereditary insanity, it's all she can do to protect them from his desperate schemes, society's prejudice, and a lifetime in an asylum. Then Clara's Grandfather Drosselmeyer brings on an apprentice with a mechanical leg, and all pretense of normalcy takes wing."
If I could, I would give this book 100 gold stars! You will be hard-pressed to find a book as captivating and moving as this book is right here.
Now that I am finished with this book, I am both euphoric and sad - I did not want the adventure to end! Rarely have I had a book suck me into it in this way. I truly felt like I was on the streets of London with Cara, Grand, Mrs. S, and Mr. Arthur. I read the book in two sittings and for a mom of two rambunctious boys, that is a feat! My emotions went on the BEST rollercoaster. The witty banter had me literally laughing out loud - something I've never done before with a book! The way Miss Bell wrote the characters, I felt as if I were sitting beside them in real-time. They were my personal friends and adventure companions! I was entrenched in both anxiety and joy - wonder and amusement!
The faith aspect in this story is a center point instead of just lightly sprinkled in. It will both move you and convict you!
Angela Bell has such a way with words. I'm not much of a visual person but her ability to describe architecture and settings so explicitly had me picturing dreamy city landscapes and awe-inspiring cathedrals with ease!

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer
5.0
Book two of the Timeless series by author Gabrielle Meyer takes us through a thrilling twist of imagination and adventure as we follow Miss Maggy and her journey through THREE separate timelines - 1861, 1941, and 2001. God has gifted her with the ability to heal but some of her paths allow her to use her gift more freely than others. As Maggie struggles to decide which path is truly HER, she comes upon the hardest decision she’ll make her entire life - where does she belong?
It is hard writing reviews without giving too much away, but Gabrielle Meyer has completely blown me away with her artistry AGAIN! Her attention to detail, the historical events, and the swoon-worthy romance (or three) woven throughout this beautiful tale keep you flipping page after page as you are drawn into the three worlds fraught with war and hard choices. I have read this series so fast because it has been hard to put down! The beautiful message of faith leaves you feeling inspired and bolstered in your own faith journey. I give this book (like the last in this series) a full 5 stars! A beautiful novel. Buy this book and read it - you won’t regret it!

✅ Identical Twin Sisters
✅ Two Heroes
✅ Two Timelines
✅ 1692 - Salem Witch Trials
✅ 1912 - Early Aviation
Author Gabrielle Meyer has outdone herself again with what I consider to be my new favorite book in her Timeless series - For A Lifetime! This is the third installment of her duel-timeline series in which we follow identical twin sisters Grace and Hope. The girls may be identical in looks but that is where the similarities stop! Just as their two timelines are crazy different, we follow the story of two polar opposite sisters who work their way through life, trying to answer the ultimate question before their 25th birthday - which life should they choose?
The time periods for this novel were excellent. I found myself anxiously on the edge of my seat, turning page after page, hungry to know what would happen to the sisters next! There is enough drama, romance, and delightful action to keep you drawn in until the very last page.

Fairest of Heart by Karen Witemeyer
3.0
I was very excited for this book - a classic remade into a historical romance?!? YES PLEASE! The book was exciting and was an easy read. Author Karen Witemeyer did an excellent job taking all of those classical pieces you loved about Snow White and found a fanciful way to incorporate them into her story. I especially loved how she skillfully woven the faith elements into the story. As an avid Christian Fiction reader, I love it when a person’s faith takes center stage in their life and isn’t just sprinkled in as an afterthought.
One of the few setbacks I found with this book is how perfect the main character was. Our “snow white” seemed too fake to fit properly into this story, in my opinion. I know I may be in the minority after reading other reviews for this book but it didn’t seem normal how she so perfectly reacted to every situation life threw at her. With Penelope being the heroine of our story, I found her hard to relate to which is a bummer when reading. While a clean read, I also found the descriptions of the females' bodies and the feelings evoked from touches or kisses (or even thoughts of wanting/daydreaming about such things) were a bit spicier than a normal Christian Fiction book.
Overall the book is an excellent and entertaining read and given the right audience, I would happily recommend it!
