I read this as an ARC and as someone who enjoys reading rh this was a refreshing twist, it is not often you find m/m so I was pleased with the representation. I enjoyed the book and instantly fell in love with the characters but there did feel like a slight disconnect. It was a quick read and kept you on your toes for a while which pulls you in more. By the end you’re thoroughly invested in seeing how the relationship will turn out and it’s exciting.

Overall I enjoyed this book, I will say it was a little difficult to be captured in it at first but once you get past the first few chapters it gets good. There are a few plot twist and moments where it keeps you on your toes and surprised. The characters are definitely my favorite part of the book. While reading it sometimes felt a little rushed however, knowing now at the end that each book will be it’s own retelling of a story makes sense and overrides that. I’m truly excited for the next adventure with the characters and being able to see their development even more.

I love the authors all of their books never fail to make me want more. This book in particular was great! I fell in love with the characters in book 1 and didn’t think I could love them anymore but once that character development occurred for all the kings I was truly in love. I love the idea that there are small easter eggs within this series and this book that connected to the authors other series in this universe (Zodiac Academy) that made me geek out a bit in excitement. The plot twists, the family, the love, all of it had me wanting to reread the series before I even finished!

This is probably my favorite so far out of this series. The character development at the end of this book was EVERYTHING. The mystery and action kept me wanting more! The development and growth between Elise and the kings this book had me feeling every emotion imaginable. Although the ending did have me quite upset because it wasn’t in my favor I will say I am even more curious to how book four will go relationship and solving the crime wise.

THE SECOND BOOK, now I should have known the second book would be even better than the first. The mystery still keeping me on my toes and changing my answer to who did what. The relationships are everything just enough frustration and hope to keep you wanting more and I love it! Cannot wait to read book 3!
