literally me as a girl who had a boyfriend but then realized that wow certain girls understood me the way he couldn’t. really good book about being messy but that messiness is beautiful and shows that you’re a person

this warmed my heart. as someone that grew up (only) really liking boys and being “boy obsessed,” it was hard to come to terms with my attraction to women. even now, as a college student. this was a heartwarming story about friendship and exposing yourself to more than you’ve ever thought possible.

the way smith incorporates blackness and queerness is beautiful. very tough subject material but done presented in an introspective way
