Once again, I binged the entire book in one sitting, as i have done with all of Mae Harden's published works! She never fails to deliver. I actually did a little whoop and rushed to message the author when i saw that a new book had been released. Her writing style is the perfect pick me up. I love the way she writes her female characters, I love the half Alpha man, half adoring, sweet, loving man she has going on. The entire thing is simply delicious

This was a very fast paced, quick read, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
There are some authors that just have it, and Mae has it.
All of her characters are unique. They're all individuals. And THATS what I love more than anything.

Okay, let me start by saying, historical romance is not my thing. I much prefer to read a modern day romance, as I feel I can relate to the characters on a deeper level.
However, Jillian has changed ALL of that. I devoured this book, and I will be the first to grab a copy of all future books she has planned.

One of my favourite things about this, is the change of world building - so we start off in America, and we move to Scotland. The level of detail and research that must have gone into this astounding, as not once did it appear cliché. I am also a fan of dialect being used in books. The UK has such a diverse language, and its not utilised enough in my opinion. The characters are usually from London with the occasional slang thrown in there that's been pulled from some archaic site online. This felt genuine and real, and it's something I thoroughly enjoy in a book!

I also really enjoyed the way the characters interacted with each other -they have perfect banter that doesn't feel forced and they bounce off each other quite well.

** slight spoiler ahead. This book does deal with some darker topics - dark but incredibly important. I don't know as much as I should, but I felt like this book gave me an eye opener for a serious topic that the world should know more about and should recognise signs/ red flags.

I have to say, you would never have thought this was Jillian's first novel. She absolutely knocked it out of the park. I'm somewhat obsessive over books
I've read that many, they all seem to blend into the same average story with a few differences sprinkled here and there. THAT is what made this stand out to me. It was unique. It was quirky. The characters were fantastic, the world building was just *chefs kiss* perfection. When I find a favourite like this, you've secured a fan for life!

I received this book as an ARC, and I have to say, I was incredibly excited from the get go having read some of LinzVonc's previous works.
I absolutely loved this book - although unplanned pregnancy has always been a favourite of mine. I love the way both characters were written, I loved the development, I loved it all

The only downside to Linz's books is the way they consume you. Don't plan on starting reading if you don't have a few hours to sit and stay, because once you start, you're cancelling everything else and reading until it's finished. And even then, you might pick it back up and start all over again.

I was given the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. I spent the best part of a year recommended Elisa's other book The Untold Forest, and I will be doing the same with this one in the year to come.

Elisa has the amazing ability to write characters that resonate with the readers, as well as building a world that immerses you, and a story that sticks with you long after the final word has been read. One thing I love more than anything, is the little things, the small sprinkles of details we get that make the characters all the more enjoyable.

In the interest of not doing any spoilers, all I will say is romcom, demons, and banter.

Give me all the delicious, dark romance, and I'll be one very happy reader.

Look, Wolfe isn't your traditional hero. He's mean, he's a bully, but my god, I love him. I'm not reading a Mills and Boon book here. I don't want all the rainbows and sprinkles of a "worship every second you're alive" romance. I want the nitty gritty. I want the dark, nasty parts. I want the bits that make you hate the hero, but also make it so you can't rip your eyes away from the book. You guys can have your Prince charming. I want the lion that lays at your side and purrs at your touch.

And Linz delivered. Thank you!

Yes, there are triggers, but its a DARK romance. And then you add a tattoo of step siblings, things are bound to be tricky. If this isn't your thing, don't read. But for me, it ticks all of my boxes. The same as all of Linz's books
