I think Sasha is pathetic and stupid. I think kirill is an idiot and also very stupid. I couldn’t care about the two main characters due to their lack of personality and their lack of intelligence.
I don’t really write reviews so here goes. This book was so hard to get through but was absolutely necessary to read, I found myself having to put it down a few times because of how dark and intense it got.
I have to admit that I did find myself getting angry and frustrated at Vanessa and asking her why can’t you see what it was?? Why can’t you see what he did to you? Why can’t you see that it wasn’t love and he was an evil disgusting predator?? Then I would carry on reading again and understand that the brainwashing was so so deep that she genuinely believed it was love.
There was moments in the book where she seemed to realise that she was being manipulated but then convinced herself that he wasn’t manipulating her, he was just trying to make her understand.
This book tells a very realistic story of what it’s like to be groomed and raped. It’s not as simple as saying they was and coming forward it changes a victims whole life, thought process and feelings. They start believing that this is what love is supposed to feel like.
A dark heartbreaking but an absolute reality for victims.
Holly Jackson you have done it again. It’s currently whatever time in the middle of the night I wouldn’t be able to tell you through my blurred vision due to the tears I cried bc of the end of this book.
I honestly kept my expectations down for this one because I didn’t think that she could top A Good Girls Guide To Murder. I don’t like to be proven wrong often but this time I’m glad I was. What an insane ride this takes you on, the plot is filled with high intensity and adrenaline, characters with secrets and a murderer, that left me on the edge of my seat and gasping throughout it. What more could you ask for in a book.
Arthur and Red my beloved baby’s I hope they get the happy ending they want either together or not.
I questioned Maddy and Reds friendship throughout the entire book but they were the real love story in this book let’s be honest.
Oliver. That’s it. (Derogatory)
Simon my light hearted bestie who defo has an alcohol problem but we’ll talk about that another time go live your theatre dreams bestie <3
Not enough romance for me. The relationship between the two main characters didn’t really do it for me, I feel they lacked chemistry and all they had in common was a sexual attraction. His actions didn’t make any sense . I did like the background characters a lot more though, so I will be reading the next book in the series.
Hallmark is going to snatch this up by next year! This was so cheesy and cliche. I got legally blonde vibes from it.
This was stupid but I LOVED it. It was such a fun read, I wasn’t stressed reading it, I wasn’t anxious reading it. As much fun as having a panic attack is about reading your favourite character doing stupid shit and almost dying, it’s also nice to relax while reading, to feel the warmth and the cheesiness in a romance book, especially at Christmas although Christmas wasn’t really mentioned much.
