I’ve re read this book at least once a year every year since it released. Maul’s life story needs to be explored like this in Disney canon

Way too slow paced in my opinion. Perhaps the actual audio drama is better but this was the weakest of the two audio dramas in this publishing initiative by far.

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Another amazing underrated entry to the new canon of Star Wars novels

I’ve read this book countless times since it came out when I was a child and it’s always a fun re read

Did not finish book. Stopped at 55%.
Going into it I was told this was the least interesting book in the republic commando series so I didn’t have high expectations. However, even with lowered expectations I wasn’t really wrapped into the story. The main commando squad isn’t interesting and neither is plot.

This was the perfect Clone Wars era novel. It’s unfortunate this 8 episode arc never made it to the screen but this book does the job just fine. Ventress gets the arc she deserves and I’m glad that this story isn’t over and will be continued in the upcoming season of The Bad Batch

One of the best books in the entire high republic series introducing a new threat to the galaxy. Surprisingly the Jedi were the least interesting part of this book, the path of the open hand was written well.

By far the most boring and uninteresting book in this entire publishing initiative. I’ve read the entirety of Phase 1, this was my first read for Phase 2 and I was extremely disappointed.

The stuff regarding Abeloth is gripping and amazing I find it hard to put the book down. However, the politics of the Galactic Alliance is a boring and unnecessary subplot in this book of the series.
