Fantastic, and chilling, look at the history of the modern American right. Builds on the work of Jane Meyer's Dark Money
An amazing piece of journalism that is highly relevant in modern America
Normally I find grimdark dull and uninspiring, but this book held my attention, and I got really into it.
A strong start goes of the rail quickly, as Nagel is intent on identifying the real enemy: Tumblr weirdos and leftists.
Nagel's argument, that the monstrous far right exists only because of: liberal bias in education, strange transgressive online liberal culture, and other liberals. Her point is incredibly weak when tested against reality (a Tumblr Otherkin has never gone into a mosque to shoot a dozen people, for example, nor do leftist communities celebrate murderers.
I don't recommend this one.
