 Thoughts and Jottings

That was a fantastic read. I felt the pacing to be perfect, as you can feel the suspense and the anxiety of the main character as she struggles with her turmoil and the fate of the entire town. The romance was not unexpected but was very pleasant nonetheless.

I have to say after being in a reading slump for a few months, once I got past the premise it was hard to put down. It was a perfect book to ease into that spooky vibe I’ve been craving, it had eerie magic and unforeseen consequences when dabbling in the unknown.

While I’m not in a rush to jump into the second book right away, I am excited to see how the plot of the fate of the town continues and the dynamic of the main characters, will it get better with time? Or have things been unfixed for too long?

Spoils and Riches

Okay, I totally understand that what Maeve did was horrible, she treated her friend of many years horribly for the acceptance of the popular girls, but Lily being mad for saving her rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I’m just playing protagonist favouritism as I usually do but I mean Maeve was ready to die to get her back. Super realistic though, Maeve felt like a very complex character that felt jealousy and envy, which you don’t normally see I find. Also, Fiona getting closer to Lily. . . .again maybe it's my bias but dang I felt Maeve’s feelings at the end.
