Ashamed to say I wasn't sure if this book would provide me with any new information, as I understood it to be an entry text into critical race but. Oh boy. I hadn't realised how much of my education was Americanised and how little of my own history I knew. Very important and necessary read

LISTEN okay its soooo good, I loved it so much, but...I think the movie format works better I'm SORRY! Its just the pacing. I will say though, I appreciated hearing more of Mr Darcy post manners glow up and I liked hearing his thoughts. The sexual tension of the movie just adds a certain je nais se quois

This story is SO good and really interesting, I think from a scientific and biological perspective its maybe one of the more bulletproof ones I've read and I'm always a sucker for a good 'the earth fights back' moment but - far too many of the situations the MC ends up in are resolved by pure luck or random chance.

My only wish is that book 2 onwards kept the same pace as the first, it slowed towards the end and I found myself skim reading. It was still very enjoyable though!

Very useful introduction to the genre but it is very text-locked in how it explains information, so it's perhaps not as useful for people needing a more general theoretical introduction.
