The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury

Why have I waited so long to discover how great Ray Bradbury is? I don't know, but it is never too late to embrace the classics. Good writing is eternal, and The Halloween Tree is amazing writing. This is a tale of a group of trick-or-treaters learning the true meaning of Halloween. It is a whimsical adventure through space and time. The imagery is stunningly beautiful, as poetic as can be without losing the fiction form. This story also rides that fun line between being for adults and for kids, both playful and dark, very much like a Tim Burton movie. Perfect for Halloween time, but I would also recommend this book to anyone who enjoys horror and/or poetic prose.
