a moms dream

This book........

This book goes over so many things i am sure most wives and  moms have felt.  Towards the back of the book the author has a note that says what we fight about when we fight about laundry. It says it's never really about the laundry it's actually a trojan horse hiding all the messy stuff inside. When we take the time to excavate that messy stuff and not only cleans the air it Alters the other fight and allows us to approach the difficult task of family job sharing and parenting with less resentment and more pragmatism. That in turn allows us to take care of ourselves without feeling quite so guilty about it. So in the story the main character ends up being a 40-something-year-old woman who ends up having a heart attack. She goes in the puncture and artery, she has this major surgery and then has recover when she gets home it's almost like her husband is determined a week is enough he goes back to work her kids are doing all the things and she has 24 year olds and it is just anxiety ridden. She's not in a spot where she can take care of herself and yet she has to do all of the things for all of the people all of the time. And it breaks down this really big wall of Need for self-care. But what she does is she runs away. And the author says that when she initially wrote the book, it was a Revenge fantasy. Like most moms and why she knows including herself or being overworked and things like that and not appreciated and so she developed this character. Well then the character ends up determining like all these different pieces of her life and all these other aspects but it's a little weird without the book ends because I feel like there was such this big wrap up but yeah at the same time it was kind of like oh so now all of a sudden there's just a resolution when we all know that when she gets home there's really not going to be a resolution. There's going to be more of a deep conversation and maybe some resentment from her husband about why did you leave, even though she asks him the same question about why they broke up from high school to college. So I think there are multiple ways to look at the aspects of this book and I think it was well written. But I think what sticks with me the most is the theme behind it and that natural construct of feeling like we have to do it all and never letting anybody help us then when we actually need the help we don't know how to ask for it and people don't know how to help us.

I am upset that it took me this long to read this book. This was a wonderfully rich and vibrant book of historical fiction and nonfiction. I thought that the character development was great, the language and vocabulary that was used was thoughtful, captivating, and at a high level. Sometimes when authors write books that have black characters they tend to make the language plain and simple but that was not the case in this book and maybe that's the reason why I loved it so much. The diversity of vocabulary and how astute the characters were is something that was probably my favorite aspect of the book. Not only was the author able to give us a lovable female main character, but she gave us a character that went through something and that character developed into such a strong woman with good sense and a bright future. The character never wavered from who she was and never changed herself for the male Main character. And so often in books we see that and it's always upsetting to me. There should never be a reason why a strong female has to change herself. There were so many aspects of this book that I loved and that I felt I could relate to, especially in terms of the main characters drive and ambition. I can only hope that this author has a plethora of books for me to read Because I will buy every single thing that is written.

This book captures a family torn apart and then rebuilt in their own way.  I loved the history that was told in the story and thought that the author did a really great job of capturing the different perspectives of the book, along with the family dynamics. I thought that there were good story development lines and I could even see where this could turn into a second book even though I think that the author closed it beautifully.

Ugh. I hate hate hate joining the cult but here I am.  VEhas done it again. I absolutely love this intro story of Kell. I love the high fantasy, the travel through worlds,  the magic, the fight,  the non romance,  and the "what if" of the story.  On to book 2.

I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this book but I think that this author is going to be one of my new favorites. This is the second book of hers that I have read and I really like her character development. There's a lot of building there. Some places have World building but she has character building and it really sets the tone for what to expect or see in the rest of the book. There were some really funny parts in this book, if you enjoy that dark satire. I feel like this book could have been a standalone but at the same time I'm interested to see what the second book holds. I'm not really a person who does a series or a duology I like the single books, but this has me interested. I decided to dig into this one before I tried to read a Conjuring of magic and I think that it's a good Prelude to a certain style of writing that this author has. I highly recommend reading this book if you are a person who likes escapism, and a little bit of that big picture out of the box type of thinking.

I hated this book because of the situation.  But i loved how it was written.  A true account of one of the most prolific medical killers in history.  The corruptio  of the medical system is so blatantly obvious it pisses me off. This lady deserves the death penalty in the same manner she killed all those children.  As a nurse,  I'm DISGUSTED.  I feel the author did a good job of lining up the evidence and updating the book.  How the story was presented had me in a chokehold until the very end.
