Both factual and gorgeously descriptive, Dr. Plait was able to describe the the "alien skies" of the title in a way that I could picture. I usually don't actively visualize while reading, so the fact that is was easy for me to do is a great credit to the skill of the writing.

This book will hopefully challenge your worldview, even if you are, in the books terminology, a small fat person. Aubrey Gordon presents a frank look on how fatphobia impacts pretty much everything in a fat person's life, and how intersectionality compounds these impacts. This is NOT a body positivity or body acceptance book, this is factual look at how our societal bias against fat people impacts them and all of society.
